Sparkling Hill Resort

Sparkling Hill Resort is the premier wellness resort spa destination in North America featuring stunning Swarovski crystal architecture enclosed within a breathtaking setting on the shores of Lake Okanagan.

AES worked closely with the architect and owner to use artistic lighting technology to emphasize a number of highly unique features. The retail store showcases a lighting design that would entice guests to view and purchase Swarovski accessories, jewelry and home décor items.

At the resort entrance, a crystal façade is indirectly illuminated in a 4 story tall space, with just enough visual cues to allow the guests to know they’ve arrived at their destination, but also giving the impression of having just entered a fairy-tale crystal laden castle after a long journey. Directional in-ground luminaires along the pathway highlight natural elements that lead guests to the entrance.

The spa and wellness crystal curtain entrance is illuminated from top and bottom with discreet LEDs, giving guests the sense of a peaceful environment to relax and indulge.

To highlight the illusion that the exterior pool is simply an extension of the Okanagan Lake, the Infinity pool is illuminated with blue submersible LED lights. Pole lights were used to provide surreptitious illumination levels on the deck and pool (for safety reasons) as was required by code.
